Fixing Our Broken Political System

By Georgia Skuza

In today’s politically heavy social climate, it can be difficult to find a true, non-partisan view on current events, politics, and social media. There is no doubt that our political systems are broken, and CNN contributor, radio host, and author Michael Smerconish seeks to speak about these topics using an independent and unbiased point of view. On Tuesday, November 1, 2022 from 12:30-2:00 p.m., just seven days before the United States General Election, the Arlen Specter Center, hosted by Professor Evan Laine, will interview Michael Smerconsish on the issues that plague the United States political system.

Both Professor Laine and Mr. Smerconish have worked with or researched the late Pennsylvania Senator Arlen Specter, for which one of Jefferson’s buildings is named after. Senator Specter was a substantial figure in the United States political system when he served in office.

A conversation such as this one is crucial to have in our current political climate, especially before a critical election.
